In the volcano the boy finds an evil copy of Elizabeth has taken control of the dinosaurs in the area and is planning to shut down the volcano, causing an ice age. Elizabeth can still sense outside influences, though, and believes someone is active in the nearby volcano. This region, Prehistoria, is based on her fascination with cave people and dinosaurs. The mansion the boy entered belonged to her grandfather, Professor Ruffleberg, and he had built a machine that could transport people to worlds of their imagination. The boy does so, and Elizabeth reveals she is from Podunk as well. Elizabeth agrees to help the boy if he rescues the village alchemist, Strong Heart, from a swamp called Bugmuck. The boy explores the jungle and finds a group of humans led by a young girl named Elizabeth. The boy is herded onto an escape craft that crashes on the planet, where he finds a large jungle full of dinosaurs and maneating plants.

Personnally, while the last IOS/android is more faithful to the original, i prefer the GBA remake by a long shot, since it was made by the team behind Legend of Mana and they have a great touch.A boy and his dog (names were chosen by the player) leave a movie theater in the small town of Podunk when the dog chases a cat into an abandoned mansion. THEN much later after that we got the iOS/android remakes you're referring to. This remake added in an interface and magic system closer to that of Secret than the original game.
Many years later, a remake of the game was released on GBA as Sword of Mana, where it was established to people less in the know about JP stuff that Secret of Mana was actually the second game in a series. The game does have Chocobos though I'm not sure if they actually originated here instead of FF? Never played the first FF). Seiken Densetsu 1 was released in the US as Final Fantasy Adventure (To help sell it since the FF name was known. Though, may be they will consider it at some point and remake Secret of Evermore, you never know, but i doubt that it will comes before Seiken Densetsu 3. Secret of Evermore is a american game that was NEVER released in japan and borrowed "Secret" to appeal to the audiance of Seiken Densetsu 2 AKA Secret of Mana. Secret of Evermore have no ties to Seiken Densetsu, and it was never made by the japanese teams that worked on the Seiken Densetsu franchise. The next remake should be Seiken Densetsu 3, then Legend of Mana (in chronological order). The first one who was originaly a Game Boy game was remade 2 years ago or so on IOS and Android.
